Your Epic Getaway Playlist

Every great vacation or memory is best paired with an epic soundtrack. Whether you’re relaxing on your charter, soaking up the sun on the beach, or dancing the night away in Nassau, you’ll need to have a great track playing in the background. Though traditional music from the Bahamas is based on a foundation of rhythmic beats coming from an array of percussion instruments and idiophones like a Carpenter’s Saw and a knife, all tropical vibes, both old and new are welcome on this vacation playlist. Still, there is massive influence from traditional Caribbean beats and forms of dance, and the presence is alive and well not only across the islands, but on our list.

Along with food, history, and art, music and dance make up an integral part of Bahamian culture, as well as a critical part of any seabound vacation. So whether it’s an old school track or a contemporary pop hit, we’ve got you covered for your Bahamas getaway. Make waves with some of our favorite tropical jams:

    • Heaven – Los Lonely Boys — Kick off your vacation with a little escape to heaven. This song pairs especially well with good vibes, clear water, and lots of sunshine.
    • Havana – Camila Cabello — If you’re going out in Nassau, you might hear some popular tunes blasting form the array of bars and clubs in town. A current chart topper and dance floor hit, Havana will kick off your night with a little taste of old and new.
    • Santeria – Sublime — A prime example of Caribbean influence on modern contemporary music is a genre known as Ska, which originated in Jamaica in the 50’s. Since then, popular bands like Sublime have capitalized on the vibrant, tropical sound, which has become synonymous with chill vibes and long beach days.
    • Steal My Sunshine – Len — What can we say, we love the 90’s. This throwback is perfect for days chilling on the charter. Kick back, relax, and soak up the sunshine to this old school beat.
    • Fly – Sugar Ray — Funky, fun, and all about good vibes. Grab a cocktail and take a dip.
    • Lay Me Down – Dirty Heads —  Another Ska and modern reggae hit, you’ll never let a day on the water go by without hearing this summer classic. A little rock, a little tropical, a little dance… what more could you want?
    • On The Island – Dry Bread — If this isn’t Bahamian vibes, we’re not quite sure what is. Put on your dancing shoes for this one, because you won’t be able to stop moving and sipping along to this quintessential and original beach jam. Backed by heavy percussion and tropical beats, On the Island will top off any night out.
    • I Got You – Duke Dumont — Alright, time to party. This tropical dance beat will keep you going all day and into the night. From the beach to the club, you’ll be feeling the good vibes all vacation long.
    • Kokomo – Beach Boys — A little bit of California in the Bahamas? We’ll take it. This Beach Boys hit is the perfect background noise for just about any activity. Plus, you won’t be able to get it out of your head for your entire trip. “Bermuda, Bahama, come on pretty mama…”
    • Escape (The Piña Colada Song) – Rupert Holmes — I mean, if you like Piña Coladas you’ll get it. Dance and sip the night away with this beachy classic.
